  Will provide the functionality for multiplexing uplink data streams and de-multiplexing downlink data streams; provides full-duplex capability and will interface the ground user equipment with the satellite modern communications and orderwire mudluators and demodulators; synchronous data inputs of mixed data rates will be multiplexed into a single super-group output and sent to the satellite modern modulators for transmission; received super-groups will be received from the satellite modern demodulators and demultiplexed into their respective groups and delivered to the signal entry panel (sep) for user access; individual subscriber ports are capable of loopback in both the subscriber and aggregate direction by command through a rs-485 port
